This past weekend I was itching to ride real bad, I unfortunately had too much on my plate and was not able to get out. Not to mention my bike is sleeping at Chris's house at the moment. I am thinking of going to get her this week though. Hope this is the start of the riding season and not just a teaser.

Yesterday was great and the roads where much cleaner than I has expected.

You have to move getting that pre-season bike check and getting on the road to the top of your list.
Then maybe the most important thing on your plate will be riding smile.gif haha

Hope you get out there soon it's suppose to be beautiful for the next couple of days.

I haven't checked out grouprider since the fall. I'm going to have to do that now.

Don't get all hard yet. This is only a teaser. It will be cold for at least 4 more weeks and it will probably snow again too. I was out on Saturday for a short sprint. Took the wife out 2 up, but the suspension is not really good for 2 up. It's been a couple years since I rode 2 up and I forgot how important it is to have the passenger lean with you. It was fun and we survived - just as long as we only go straight - LOL

I hear you. There's still remnants of snow here, but it's high 40s out, so it's melting off (takes a while to get rid of 8' snowbanks). But I'm 0 for 2 with functioning bikes at the moment, and I'm trying to refuse riding my Dad's 28yo Yamaha again. I've got a couple side jobs I'm wishing would hurry up and shit or get off the pot, but keep your fingers crossed for the Paso riding again soon, with the Monster to follow.

Love it though. Seen some bikers out, the weather's letting up ... I know my blood's thickened up when 40ºF is Tshirt weather.

I've been out riding a bunch! smile.gif

Be out again tomorrow. It is definitely time (past) for my next service, so I'll be getting the goods for that soon.

Kicking myself for not going out today or yesterday, but I'm still worried about black ice in the wee hours of dawn.

Hopefully after the rain this weekend the roads will clear up for us. Right now when cars are on the road its like a dust cloud. We haven't had any rain in quite a while but their saying rain all weekend and that should set up the NY area for some good riding next week.

I went and picked up Emily yesterday, she has been sleeping at Chris's house since September. While I only rode a short 30 minutes it was nice to be back in the saddle.

For me this winter seemed to go by fast. I covered the bike and never looked at it until about 2 weeks ago. Its nice to be doing the springtime work on it though.

Well, I went for a whole 5 mile ride last Sunday after I finished putting the bike back together. Those new Leo Vine slip-ons not only look good but the bike sounds great as well. I was having problems with the plastic tank, it looks like it has expanded over the winter and now the handle bars are touching the tank. Has anybody experience this before??... The short ride was great and I had a lot of fun... can't wait to go for a real ride and get together for a group ride.

Is it possible that while the bike was apart or maybe rolling it through a doorway or something the bars got bumped back a little? Can you just loosen them and move them forward a bit? Disregard if you have clip-ons and both sides now touch.

Ramiro, I picked up an 06 S2R1000 last fall. I also put an aftermarket exhaust and open airbox on it over the winter. I noticed it was hard getting the latch down past the ignition. Also, when I put the tank down one side would rest on the fframe and the other was off. Both Steve and I did some research and found this is a fairly common issue with the plastic tanks. I'm in the process of trying to get it replaced under the emissions warranty.

Thanks Paul, I did some research and found out that this is a common problem with plastic tanks. Also I joined a group that is trying to get Ducati to issue a recall. As we know now by the behavior of Toyota, not all the companies want to admit mistakes. Let's hope that Ducati will do the right thing and fixes this issue, I will hate to take this to court.

I was going to mention the Yahoo Group on plastic tanks. I joined too but I'm hoping DNA will do the right thing.

Good luck. Let me know how you make out and I'll do the same.

Its been a beautiful week to ride up to Thursday that is...but my dad suffered another stroke on Sunday so I couldn't ride all week. Until yesterday (yes he's doing much better and told me to get out and ride if I could) of course I pick the one day it rained for most of the day. Still burned a tank of gas collecting tags smile.gif

Looks like a nice week next week, hoping to make a run to Caribou ME for the Harley stamp....wonder what it like up there shocked.gif

This machine (Sophie) has been itching all winter long and it is ready for a ride. I think I will take it to work this Friday.

^^ I like this! smile.gif

I've been riding all week. Word of caution: the roads are okay, but there's still significant storm debris. Be very careful. Also, the cagers aren't expecting motorcyclists yet.

Ride well!
